He shot and fled: law enforcement officers detained a 38-year-old Kyiv resident

Law enforcement officers have detained a man who committed a shooting in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv. During the conflict, the suspect fired about nine shots at the victim and fled.

This was reported today, May 13, by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv.

It is noted that law enforcement officers received a report that an unknown person shot at a citizen on Obolonskyi Avenue and drove away. A special operation was launched in the capital. The police established that a 38-year-old Kyiv resident was involved in the incident.

“Law enforcement officers found out that during the conflict that arose between the men, the suspect took out a revolver and fired about nine shots into various parts of the 27-year-old victim's body. The latter did not sustain serious injuries. After that, the attacker got into a car and drove away from the scene of the crime,” the report says.

Patrol officers stopped the suspect's car in another area of the city. Investigators seized a revolver chambered for Flaubert from the car and detained the man. He was charged under Part 4 of Article 296 Hooliganism, with the use of an object specially adapted for inflicting bodily harm, Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.

On April 30, police reported the detention of a man in Kyiv — a soldier in the North-West Frontier Province was walking around a supermarket and intimidating customers with a weapon. Law enforcement officers found out that the suspect was drunk.

On April 25, police also reported the arrest of the suspect who opened fire in Bucha. According to investigators, the man was drunk and fired randomly.
