Zelensky, Schz discuss military support for Ukraine

German Chancellor af Schz and Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky in a phone call on Wednesday discussed the pitical, military and humanitarian situation in Ukraine.

German government spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said this at a briefing on January 24, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

He said Zelensky had informed Schz about the consequences of Russia's recent missile attacks on Ukraine and thanked the German government for military support provided to his country, especially for bstering Ukrainian air defenses.

"The chancellor reaffirmed his unchanging and unwavering sidarity with Ukraine in connection with Russia's aggression. He assured [Zelensky] that Germany would continue to support Ukraine in the military sector in close coordination with Eurean and international partners," Hebestreit said.

Zelensky and Schz agreed soon to conclude negotiations on the coordination of bilateral security commitments and support for the implementation of the G7 Joint Declaration of July 2023.

They also agreed to maintain close contact, the spokesperson added.
