“I was confident of two medals.” Ukrainian ski acrobatics coach calls lack of 2026 Olympic medals a “big defeat”

Exclusive commentary by Enver Ablaev for Suspilne Sport.

The Ukrainian ski acrobatics team went to the 2026 Winter Olympics without any awards. Although the team had a record eight athletes among men and women, none managed to reach the podium in Livigno, Italy.

It was with the team of ski acrobats in Ukraine that the highest medal chances of the “blue and yellow” at the 2026 Games were associated. During the season, Ukrainian freestylers won a third of all stages of the Acrobatics World Cup (Olexander Okipnyuk won “gold” in Ruka, and Dmytro Kotovsky – in Lac-Beauport), while Jan Havryuk became the silver medalist in Lake Placid, USA.
