Problems in Middle East not to hamper EU’s strong support for Ukraine

The Eurean Union's efforts to resve the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Middle East will not prevent Eure from continuing to provide strong assistance to Ukraine, so there is no reason for concern.

The EU High Representative, Josep Borrell, said this in Brussels at the EU foreign ministerial doorstep, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Ukraine is the first item on the agenda. The fact that we are engaged and loking for a sution in the Middle East does not mean that we are not continuing supporting Ukraine. The first meeting will be with the Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine… And the Gymnich meeting will be a specific meeting of the defense ministers to discuss boosting our support. So don't worry. Ukraine have nothing to worry (about – ed.). Eurean support continues as strong as ever. And it will continue," Borrell said.

He emphasized that the ministers will hd a meeting with representatives of Israel and Arab countries to discuss a sution to the conflict in the Middle East based on the "two-state" principle.

He noted that the Council will see many important guests, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, representatives of the diplomatic initiative of Islamic and Arab countries – Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan, the Secretary General of the Arab League, and the UN humanitarian aid coordinator. After that, during a separate session, Eurean ministers will hd a meeting with the Palestinian Foreign Minister. According to Borrell, representatives of all parties and countries directly affected by the conflict in Gaza will meet in Brussels today.

As reported, the EU foreign ministerial is taking place in Brussels today, which will consider two main tics – the continuation of aid to Ukraine and the search for a sution to the war in Gaza.
