Law enforcement officers have detained a 22-year-old Russian citizen in Kyiv, suspected of stabbing a local resident. The victim tried to escape through the window of an 11th-floor apartment, but fell and died.
This is reported by the Kyiv police.
On May 8, the police received a report of a man who fell out of the window of a high-rise building on Obolonsky Avenue.
The deceased was a 22-year-old Kyiv resident. A forensic expert recorded knife wounds on his body, as well as injuries typical of a fall from a height.
According to the investigation, a conflict broke out in the apartment between two young men. During the argument, the suspect stabbed the victim. Trying to escape, the man climbed out the window, but could not hold back and fell from the 11th floor.
The attacker turned out to be a citizen of the Russian Federation, has a residence permit in Ukraine, and has previously been held criminally liable for drug crimes.
He locked himself in his apartment, so he was detained by officers from Special Forces Regiment No. 1.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under articles of attempted murder (Part 2 of Article 15, Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The suspect has already been notified of the suspicion. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
