The US has imposed sanctions on Chinese companies for providing Iran with satellite images of US bases in the Middle East

The United States has imposed sanctions on Chinese companies for providing Iran with satellite images of American military facilities in the Middle East.

This is stated in a press release from the US State Department dated May 8.

It is alleged that such data could be used by the Iranian military to strike American military personnel and US partners in the region.

Thus, the sanctions list included Chinese companies Meentropy Technology (MizarVision) and Earth Eye (TEE), which, according to the State Department, provided or published images of US military activity during Operation Epic Fury.

Restrictions have also been imposed on the Chinese satellite company Chang Guang Satellite Technology. According to the US State Department, it recorded the facilities of American troops and their allies for further transfer to Tehran and the Yemeni Houthis.

In addition, the US authorities imposed sanctions against 10 companies and individuals for possibly facilitating the Iranian military's efforts to procure weapons, as well as supplying raw materials for the production of drones and missiles.
