Selling cars imported for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Kyiv Region Prosecutor's Office reports suspicion to two men

Law enforcement officials have reported the discovery of a scheme in the Kyiv region to sell cars imported into Ukraine as humanitarian aid for the military. The Buchanan District Prosecutor's Office suspects two men.

This was reported today, May 7, by the press service of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the case materials, under the guise of charitable activities, the men arranged for the import of vehicles into Ukraine as humanitarian aid, allegedly to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“In particular, these are three cars: a Jeep Commander, a Kia Sorento, and a Volkswagen Touareg. The suspects imported them from Poland based on requests from charitable and public organizations,” the report says.

The investigation established that instead of handing over the vehicles to the military, the suspects looked for buyers through online platforms and messengers, distributed information among acquaintances, conducted negotiations by phone, and agreed to sell the cars.

“On May 1, 2026, in Irpen, under the control of law enforcement officers, the sale of vehicles was documented. The defendants received $14,200 for the sale of humanitarian vehicles,” the prosecutor's office informed.

The department's post states that the suspects were detained and reported on suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 201-2 Sale of humanitarian aid goods for the purpose of making a profit, committed during martial law in a significant amount. Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a preventive measure – detention with the right to post bail – 266,240 hryvnias.
