Zelensky approves composition of delegation for talks on security guarantees for Ukraine
A respective order, No. 2/2024-rp, "On the delegation of Ukraine to participate in negotiations on the develment and preparation of bilateral and multilateral international agreements between Ukraine and other states on security guarantees for Ukraine" has been published on the website of the head of state, Ukrinform reports.
"To form a delegation of Ukraine to participate in negotiations on the develment and preparation of bilateral and multilateral international agreements between Ukraine and other states on security guarantees for Ukraine in the flowing composition," the document reads.
The delegation is headed by the chief of Zelensky's office, Andr Yermak.
The delegation includes Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva, Minister for Strategic Industries eksandr Kamyshin, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anton Korynevych, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service eksandr Lytvynenko, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Roman Mashovets, Deputy Minister of Justice Iryna Mudra, First Deputy Minister of Defense eksandr Pavliuk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Myka Tochytskyi, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Fomenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Euro-Atlantic Integration and International Security of the Department for Eurean and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Baranetskyi, Director of the Department of International Defense Coeration of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Hennadii Kovalenko and Deputy Head of the Department of National Security and Defense of the Office of the President of Ukraine Vitalii Martyniuk.
The president allowed the head of the delegation to make changes to the composition of the delegation, in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, to invve advisers, experts, and technical workers in order to ensure the work of the delegation.
The head of state also approved the directives of the Ukrainian delegation for negotiations on the develment and preparation of bilateral and multilateral international agreements between Ukraine and other states on security guarantees for Ukraine. However, they are marked as "secret."
On December 19, Zelensky said during his end-of-year press conference that a lot depended on Ukraine in terms of security guarantees. In particular, Ukraine must present a vision of a military component that will become the core of security guarantees and all security guarantees will be built around this security element.
At the same time, he noted that the process was progressing more slowly than he expected.
