Jamaica breaks mixed relay world record for second time in two days at 2026 World Championships

The Jamaican team broke the world record in the 4x100m medley relay at the 2026 World Relay Championships.

In the world championship final, Jamaica emerged as the fastest team in the 4×100 m mixed relay. The Jamaican athletes covered the distance in 39.62 seconds , 0.61 seconds ahead of the Canadian team, which finished second.

With their result, Jamaica broke the world record for the second time in two days. The previous best time they set in qualifying was 39.99 seconds.

Until the Jamaicans, no mixed foursome had run the distance in under 40 seconds at the 2026 World Relays. Canada had already set a new record at the World Championships in Botswana — 40.07 seconds, but three qualifying heats later they lost to Jamaica's historic result.
