Law enforcement officers have detained a driver suspected of committing a shooting in the Svyatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. He is a 46-year-old resident of the Kyiv region. He is charged with hooliganism.
This was reported by the capital's National Police Department.
On the afternoon of May 1, an unknown person from a Volkswagen Caddy opened fire on a car on Mriya Street and fled. Previously, there were no deaths or injuries as a result of the shooting, National Police spokeswoman Yulia Girdvilis told Sospilno.
According to her, operational orientation has been introduced in the city. Law enforcement officers are establishing the shooter's whereabouts.

At 5:45 p.m., the police reported that the suspect had been detained in a village in the Kyiv region. He turned out to be a 46-year-old resident of the region. No weapons were found during a search of his car.
“Investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – hooliganism. The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment. Investigative actions are currently ongoing. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances,” the report says.
The day before, on April 30, in Kyiv, a serviceman in the NWCH walked around a supermarket and intimidated visitors with a weapon. Law enforcement officers detained him, the man was drunk.
On April 25, law enforcement officers detained the suspect who opened fire in Bucha. According to police, the man was drunk and began firing randomly.
