Recently, the police and the Security Service of Ukraine detained three alleged members of a criminal group that manufactured drugs in Kyiv and distributed them in the city and other regions. Last year, nine more suspects were identified.

A total of 38 searches were conducted, and law enforcement officers found the following on the suspects: packages with amphetamine and phenylnitropropene, precursors A chemical substance, a starting component for the synthesis of some other substance , “draft” notes, money, electronic scales, laboratory equipment, live ammunition, grenades, and three cars.
According to the investigation, the organizer of the group was a 51-year-old unemployed Kyiv resident. He is suspected of creating a group and recruiting 11 people aged 36-48. In addition, he carefully searched for them, as the police add: he took into account “experience” in drug dealing, the presence of contacts among drug addicts, etc.

The group set up laboratories in their homes, where they constantly produced amphetamine and phenylnitropropene. They stored psychotropic substances and precursors in apartments, garages, and country houses in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
“The finished psychotropic drug was sold both in Kyiv and in other regions – it was passed from hand to hand and sent by mail. The funds received were distributed among the participants and spent on the purchase of materials for the production of new batches of “goods”,” the press release adds.

Recent suspicions of drug trafficking in Kyiv and the region
On December 19, 2025, law enforcement officers detained two men on suspicion of selling large amounts of mephedrone and amphetamine across the country. According to investigators, the suspects, aged 31 and 45, set up garages in Kyiv where they stored and packaged drugs and sold them via Telegram. Law enforcement officers conducted searches in Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Odessa regions and seized goods worth 95 million hryvnias.
On December 24, a 31-year-old Kyiv resident was reported suspicious. He is accused of growing psychotropic mushrooms at home and selling them, both in dried form and disguised in chocolate.
In Brovary, Kyiv region, law enforcement officers uncovered a laboratory for growing hemp and producing cannabis in the basement of a private house. According to the investigation, five people set up the drug business, and they were handed suspicions.
In early January of this year, a 37-year-old Azerbaijani citizen was detained in the capital on suspicion of illegally purchasing and transporting drugs in particularly large quantities.
Later that month, police uncovered a network of drug labs. According to law enforcement, it was organized by two Kyiv residents. The suspects produced up to 25 kg of amphetamine and LSD each month.
