Ternopil was attacked by about 36 “Shahedi” on the afternoon of May 1. Unfortunately, there were hits and many casualties.
This was announced by Ternopil City Mayor Serhiy Nadal.
What are the consequences of the attack on Ternopil?
As noted by the State Emergency Service, the enemy struck at various locations in the city.
More than 20 explosions were heard in the city. During the attack, 36 air targets were recorded, of which 27 were destroyed by air defense forces. 9 targets hit civilian infrastructure.
The enemy dealt the biggest blow to Ternopil during the entire war,

There were no fatalities. However, as of 5:30 p.m., the number of injured had increased to 12, the prosecutor's office reported.
The injured person, who was in serious condition, is now feeling better. Six more people remain in medical facilities with moderate and mild injuries.

Some neighborhoods remain without electricity. Repair crews are already working on restoring power.
Please note! As of 16:15, traffic on Brodivska and Poliska streets is temporarily blocked due to the elimination of the consequences of the attack. Trolleybus route No. 7 and bus route No. 21 pass along Zbarazka street without entering Brodivska or Poliska streets. Bus route No. 28 passes from Velyka Berezovitsa to the Zbarazka – Brodivska street intersection and in the opposite direction.

Recall! Recently, Ukrainian intelligence and sources in state structures warned that Russia is preparing a new wave of attacks on critical infrastructure. The target may be water supply systems in dozens of cities across Ukraine, including Kyiv.

The interlocutors believe that the enemy will launch massive strikes with missiles and drones to cause a humanitarian crisis and pressure on the civilian population. The experts also warned Ukrainians that Ukrainian water networks are extremely worn out, and backup systems are often absent. So even one strike can leave a settlement without water for a long time.
What is known about the attack on Ukraine on May 1?
On Friday, May 1, from 8:00 to 15:30, Russia attacked Ukraine with 409 strike UAVs. Previously, as of 15:30, the air defense had shot down/suppressed 388 drones in the north, south, center, and west of the country. There were 16 strike UAVs hit at 6 locations, as well as downed (fragments) falling at 11 locations.
There was a lot of noise in a number of regions of the West and Center, in particular in the Rivne region. The head of the OVA Oleksandr Koval reported that a residential building in the regional center was damaged, and the roof caught fire on an area of 100 square meters. Previously, there were no casualties.
And in Vinnytsia region, a residential building was destroyed by a drone attack. According to preliminary data, as reported by the head of the OVA Natalia Zabolotna, one woman was injured and taken to a medical facility. In total, there were 74 UAVs in the airspace of the region during the attack.
It was also noisy in Zhytomyr, where about 10 UAVs were flying. Head of the OVA Vitaliy Bunechko reported that the city center and other settlements of the region were hit. Non-residential premises, sports and educational infrastructure were damaged, and fires broke out. Preliminary reports indicate that there were no casualties.
