Nadya Dorofeeva has started a new stage in her career – she has released her first song in English. The track is called FEEL THE HEAT.
The official release took place on April 30, and along with the song, a video clip immediately appeared, which helps to understand its idea more deeply. DOROFEEVA published the video work on her own YouTube channel.
The song sounds energetic, modern and very emotional. But for Nadia Dorofeeva this is not just a new release. In a comment to TSN, she explained that now she is thinking not only about herself as an artist, but also about how to show Ukraine to the world through music. It is important to her that our country is seen not only through war, folklore or sports, but as a stylish and modern part of world pop culture.
FEEL THE HEAT is a song that has everything that drives and inspires me: emotions, passion, sexuality. But at the same time, it was important for me to feel the strength, talent, culture and beauty of our nation,
– the performer noted.
An interesting moment is in the drop of the track – there you can hear the hopak motif. The idea came spontaneously: Nadya simply remembered this melody and sang it, and her co-author Misha Katsurin helped shape it into the sound of the song.
At that moment, we realized that we had found exactly what we were looking for: a way to rethink the Ukrainian cultural code in the language of modern pop music. After that, we turned on a video of the legendary Virsky ensemble: strength, energy and emotions – everything that makes hopak so unique lives in their every movement. And this is exactly what you can see and feel in the clip, to which we invited the dancers of the ensemble,

There are many symbols in the video work itself. There are also traditional things – a towel, a necklace, a bedspread, fragments of the same hopak. But alongside this, modernity is also shown: for example, a veteran with a prosthesis – as a symbol of war experience and strength, and a woman in a “masculine” image – as a reflection of how women today take on new roles.
Each character in the video is a generalized image of modern Ukraine. Each image is a separate state: vulnerability, confidence, struggle, unity. Together, this forms the face of modern Ukraine, which continues to move, transform and live – despite everything,

What is known about the creative path of Nadia Dorofeeva?
Nadiya began to study music in her childhood – from the age of 10 she sang, performed in competitions, and later took part in the shows “Karaoke on the Square” and “Chance”, where she announced herself to a wider audience.
Later, the artist became a member of the group “M. Ch. S.”, after which she decided to develop independently. At the same time, Dorofeeva gained the greatest popularity in the duet “Time and Glass” together with Positive. It was then that their famous hits were released – “Name 505”, “On Style”, “Probably Later”. In 2020, the group broke up, releasing the last song Last Dance.
After that, the singer began a solo career under the name DOROFEEVA. The first step was the video for the song gorit, and later other popular tracks appeared – “I love, but not quite”, “Let them write”, “Japan” and others.
