Electric shock on the roof of a train car: a child was hospitalized with severe burns in the Kyiv region

In the Kyiv region, in the Bila Tserkva region, a child was electrocuted on the roof of a train car. The victim was hospitalized.

This was reported today, April 29, by the press services of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Kyiv Region and the Main Directorate of the National Police of the region.

It is noted that yesterday at 21:08 the Rescue Service received a report that a child needed rescue assistance near the Rotok railway station (next to Bila Tserkva). At the scene, it was found that a child born in 2012 was on the roof of a tank car and had been electrocuted.

The State Emergency Service reported that the victim was conscious, but suffered serious electrical burns. After the area was completely de-energized, he was safely removed from the car and transported to an emergency medical vehicle on a stretcher.

“The child was urgently hospitalized with 80% electrical burns to his entire body. His condition is extremely serious. Police officers are currently investigating this incident,” the report says.

Previously, Suspilne told why so-called hooking is common among teenagers, what the legal responsibility is for it, and the dangerous consequences.

The railway's overhead contact line is under a voltage of 27,000 volts. This is over 120 times more than in household sockets in homes. You can get an electric shock even without touching the wire, Ukrzaliznytsia notes.
