An 18-year-old girl was injured in Kyiv. She fell into an unfenced pit with water in the Obolonskyi district of the city. Law enforcement officers have opened a criminal case.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv.
Law enforcement officers learned about the incident from social media. Investigators previously established that on Ivasyuk Avenue, workers from the emergency crew of the Kyivteploenergo utility company were repairing a burst cold water pipe.
“The work site was not properly fenced. As a result, an 18-year-old local resident, while passing by, fell into a water-filled pit and injured her leg. She was provided with the necessary assistance,” the report says.
Investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of safety rules when performing work with increased danger. The maximum sanction of the article provides for up to three years of restriction of liberty.
