They flew very low: the KMVA spoke about the consequences of the Russian drone attack on Kyiv

On the morning of April 24, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with drones. There was no damage, injuries, or deaths. However, debris from downed drones fell in several areas of the capital.

This was reported by the city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko and the Kyiv City Military Administration.

An air alert was declared in the capital at 9:09 a.m. due to the threat of drones. It lasted 39 minutes. During this time, air defense forces worked on the targets.

Initially, the mayor wrote in Telegram that in the Solomiansky district, the remains of downed drones fell in two locations – in the territory of non-residential buildings and in a reservoir. Later, he added that in the Solomiansky district, the wreckage was found between residential buildings, and in Obolonsky – on the territory of a garage cooperative.

Kateryna Pop, a spokeswoman for the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported on the air of “Suspilne Studio” that air defense forces had to shoot down a Russian drone over a residential area “to minimize the consequences for the population.” According to her, specialists are working at the scene of the debris fall to determine the types of UAVs.

“The drones were launched at low altitudes because the Russians changed their tactics. They launch the drones during the day and try to confuse the air defenses as much as possible. The altitudes were low enough to shoot them down,” said Kateryna Pop.
