Can a sole proprietor work at a regular job?

According to the rules of the law, a person can work under an employment contract in a company and simultaneously carry out activities as an individual entrepreneur in his free time from his main job, as stated on the website of the Enterprise Support Center.

A sole proprietorship is an independent business activity. At the same time, an employee is an individual who performs a labor function in accordance with an employment contract.

An employment contract is concluded with an individual, not with an individual entrepreneur, so no contradictions arise if a person is simultaneously an individual entrepreneur and receives a salary at work,
– explained to the Ukrainians.

The Taxer website gave an example: an ordinary individual opened a sole proprietorship and provides accounting services. Later, this person was offered a job at the enterprise as an employee under an employment contract.

Thus, a Ukrainian man or woman can work in a company as an accountant under an employment contract. And after work, they can engage in their activities as an individual entrepreneur.

At the same time, it is not necessary to inform the employer about your individual entrepreneur status . According to the information, a person does not have such an obligation.

At the same time, an employer can find out that his employee is an individual entrepreneur. To do this, it is enough to enter the TIN in the register of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.

Important! You cannot be an employee (under an employment contract) in a company and at the same time provide services to it as an individual entrepreneur.
