A fight for the UBO title between Russian boxer Sergey Gorokhov and Turkish representative Emirhan Kalkan took place in Trabzon. The fight ended with a massive beating of the Russian and his team.
The dispute between the Kalkan and Gorokhov teams arose during the fight, but continued even when the boxers were supposed to disperse to their corners of the ring.
Gorokhov knocked out Emirkhan, after which he began to actively celebrate his victory in the ring. When the Russian boxer approached to pay tribute to his opponent after the fight, one of Kalkan's team members pushed him. After that, a fight broke out between the representatives of both sides, which quickly escalated into a mass brawl.
Despite calls from officials to stop the “chaos”, spectators burst into the ring and attacked the Russian boxer in droves. In particular, Gorokhov's team was pelted with plastic chairs and beaten with fists and kicks.
The conflict ended only when private guards and security officers intervened in the fight.
Ultimately, as a result of the fight, the winner of the fight was not officially announced, and an investigation was launched into the incident.
