Ukraine's weightlifting team enters top 5 in Euro 2026 medal standings: all results

Following the results of the continental championship in Batumi, Ukrainian weightlifters won three “big” medals and took first place in the women's team ranking by points.

The 2026 European Weightlifting Championships were held from April 19 to 26 in the Georgian city of Batumi. The Ukrainian team for this tournament included 14 weightlifters: six athletes in the men's team and eight in the women's team.

At the previous European Championship in Chisinau, the Ukrainian national team won 13 awards. In the medal standings for “big” medals, the “blue and yellow” team took 17th place.

How did Ukrainian weightlifters perform at Euro 2026?

  • The team's first medalist at the tournament was Kateryna Malashchuk, who won three awards in the 48 kg weight category – one silver and two bronze.
  • On the second day of competition, Kamila Konotop became the absolute European champion in the weight category up to 58 kg, winning gold medals in the snatch, clean and jerk, and in the total combined event. In the same category, Ukraine was represented by Olga Ivzhenko, who won a silver medal.
  • On the fifth day of the competition, Iryna Dombrovska, competing in the 77 kg weight category, won three bronze medals (in the snatch, clean and jerk, and in the combined event).
  • The final award for the national team was brought by Vladislav Prylypko in the over 110 kg category. He showed the third result in the clean and jerk (231 kg), which brought him a “small” bronze. In the snatch, Prylypko became sixth (175 kg), and in the total weightlifting he took the fifth final place (406 kg).

This year's competition in Georgia ended with Armenia winning the overall team standings, while the Ukrainian women's team topped its segment of the ranking in terms of points scored. The Ukrainian team finished the championship in fifth place in the medal standings based on the results of the combined event (“major” medals). In total, including “minor” awards, the Ukrainians have won 3 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze awards.

In the women's team standings, Ukraine scored 463 points, which allowed it to take first place, ahead of Turkey (442) and Armenia (424). In the men's team standings, the leaders were Armenia (567) and Bulgaria (540).
