Ukraine will receive €100 million to prepare for winter — Shmyhal

To prepare for winter, Ukraine will receive 100 million euros from partners through the Energy Support Fund.

As reported by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, such commitments were announced by the partners today during a meeting of the “energy Ramstein”.

At the same time, according to him, the participants agreed to seek additional financing for the Fund in the amount of 829 million euros.

“This is critically important for ensuring the timely allocation of resources to already approved and prioritized needs, as well as for the implementation of procurements,” the minister noted.

During the meeting in the Ukraine Energy Coordination Group format, goals and priorities were also discussed.

“In the context of preparations for next winter, the EU's decision to provide financial support to Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros is particularly important. We believe that the support and solidarity of partners will help Ukraine get through next winter,” Shmyhal noted.

According to Shmyhal, Ukraine needs at least 5.4 billion euros to prepare for the next heating season.
