Sixty percent of Ukrainians ready to wait for joining EU longer if it is in country’s interests
This is evidenced by the results of a pl conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociogy on behalf of the Eurean Union Advisory Mission, available to Ukrinform.
It is noted that, in contrast to the specified group, 27% of respondents believe that it is necessary to fulfill all EU’s requirements to join the Eurean Union as soon as possible.
At the same time, 77% of respondents indicate that Ukraine’s EU membership is important to them. At the same time, the share of those to whom Ukraine’s EU membership is important decreases from west to east – from 86% to 62%, although the majority in all regions consider it important, the authors of the research emphasize.
The vast majority of respondents also critically assess the authorities' efforts to carry out reforms – only 19% consider the efforts sufficient (15% in 2021). Instead, 71% consider the efforts insufficient (76% in 2021).
Respondents name the fight against corruption, war-related tasks, and judiciary reform as priority tasks or reforms.
The Kyiv International Institute of Sociogy conducted research throughout the territory of Ukraine, except for uncontrled or dangerous territories, through personal interviews using a tablet on September 4-20, 2023. A total of 2,005 respondents were interviewed, the sampling error does not exceed 3.3%.
