A 22-year-old man will appear in court in Kyiv on charges of raping an 11-year-old girl after meeting her online. Investigators have completed the investigation and sent the indictment to the court.
This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office on April 22.
According to the investigation, the young man met the schoolgirl on a dating app and suggested they meet. During the conversation, he lied about his age – he introduced himself as 15 years old, which is why the child did not perceive him as a threat. At the same time, as law enforcement officers established, the accused himself knew for sure that the girl was only 11 years old.
“The meeting took place in one of the Kyiv parks. From there they went to an abandoned building, where the man committed violence against the child. After that, the girl told her mother about her experiences, who contacted law enforcement,” the report says.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the 22-year-old Kyiv resident was detained in November 2025 and reported on suspicion. He is currently in custody.
The actions of the accused were qualified under Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – rape of a minor, punishable by imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years.
