London's Chelsea have officially announced the termination of cooperation with head coach Liam Rosennor. Calum McFarlane has been appointed as caretaker coach until the end of the season, the club's official website reported.
The reason for the coach's resignation was the team's unsatisfactory results in recent matches. A statement from the Chelsea press service stated that the team's performances had fallen below the standards set by the management.
“We would like to formally express our gratitude to Liam and his coaching staff for all their efforts during their time at the club. Since his appointment mid-season, Liam has always demonstrated the highest integrity and professionalism. This decision has not been taken lightly by the club, however the team's recent results and performances have not met the required standards and there are still many matches to be played this season,” the official statement said.
Calum McFarlane will take over as head coach until the end of the 2025/26 season. In parallel, the club is beginning a review process to find a new specialist on a long-term basis.
Liam Rosenborg took charge of Chelsea in January 2026, signing a six-and-a-half-year contract (until June 2032). He replaced Enzo Marescu in the position.
