Ukraine has increased its vegetable oil export revenues, even despite a reduction in physical supply volumes. The main driver is high prices and a change in the structure of exports.
Revenue is growing despite volume reduction
In July-March of the 2025-2026 marketing year, vegetable oil exports from Ukraine in monetary terms increased to 4.94 billion US dollars, Latifundist.com reports. This is 21.1% more than in the same period last season.
At the same time, physical supply volumes decreased slightly – by 1.6%, to 4 million tons. This dynamics indicates the influence of the price factor and changes in the situation on world markets.
Sunflower oil remains the key product: its exports exceeded 3.16 million tons, and revenue approached 4 billion US dollars. At the same time, the value increased by 12%, although the supply volume decreased by more than 10%.
The largest importers of Ukrainian sunflower oil are India, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, and France. Significant exports are also directed to Egypt and Iraq.
Rapeseed and soybean oil show strong growth
The most dynamic growth was shown by the rapeseed oil segment. Its exports increased 2.8 times in monetary terms and 2.3 times in volume, reaching 461.8 thousand tons. The main buyers were Spain, Poland, Bulgaria and the Netherlands.
Soybean oil is also showing steady growth. During the reporting period, Ukraine exported about 380 thousand tons of this product worth over 420 million US dollars.
The main sales markets remain the countries of the European Union , in particular:
- Poland,
- Germany,
- Romania,
- Netherlands.
Thus, the structure of vegetable oil exports is changing, and rising prices and demand allow Ukraine to increase foreign exchange earnings even with a decrease in physical supply volumes.
