On the night of April 18, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck four important oil refining facilities on the territory of Russia.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that fires were recorded at the Novokuybyshevsk and Syzransk oil refineries in the Samara region, the RPK-Vysotsk Lukoil-2 oil loading terminal in the Leningrad region, as well as at the Tikhoretsk oil pumping station in the Krasnodar region.
The General Staff added that all these enterprises are involved in providing supplies to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
As a reminder, on the night of April 18, Russian Telegram channels reported a drone attack on oil infrastructure in the Samara, Leningrad, and Krasnodar regions. In particular, one of the strikes hit the southern part of the Novokuibyshevsk refinery and caused a fire at the ELOU-AVT-6 (AVT-11) unit. This is a key complex at oil refineries, designed for primary oil processing. It performs electrical desalination and dehydration of oil (ELOU), as well as its atmospheric vacuum distillation (AVT) for separation into fractions: gasoline, kerosene, diesel and fuel oil. .
There were also reports of damage to the tank farm of the Syzran Oil Refinery. This is one of the largest oil refineries in the Samara region, which produces gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, fuel oil, bitumen and liquefied hydrocarbon gases, processing up to 7-8.5 million tons of oil per year.
A fire was also recorded in the Leningrad Region – in the area of the port of Vysotsk. This is one of the key hubs in the Baltic region, through which oil products, gas and other cargo are transshipped. In addition, a fire was reported on the territory of an oil depot in Tikhoretsk in the Krasnodar Territory.
