A record prize pool will be played at Roland Garros 2026: how much will tennis players receive

The 2026 Roland Garros will feature the largest prize pool in the tournament's history, 61.7 million euros, tournament organizers announced, as quoted by Reuters.

The prize money for this year's Roland Garros has increased by 9.5% compared to last year's tennis Grand Slam draw. The increase of €5.3 million compared to 2025 indicates a further steady increase in prize money for participants in Grand Slam tournaments held on clay.

In recent years, organizers have focused on increasing prize money in all rounds, not just for champions but also for players who have dropped out early. This is due to the fair distribution of income among athletes. Roland Garros maintains a system in which men and women will receive equal prize money.

Despite the fact that the organizers of Roland Garros increased the prize money, the French Grand Slam remains the least profitable for tennis players of all the Grand Slam tournaments. This year, the winners of the Australian Open received $79.92 million, while last year's US Open and Wimbledon played out $90 million and $72.4 million, respectively.

In addition to increasing the prize money that tennis players will receive at this year's Roland Garros, organizers also announced that the event will traditionally honor athletes who have completed, or will complete, their careers in 2025-2026.

At this year's Roland Garros, Ukraine will have a record number of representatives in the women's main draw. The following players will compete in the tournament: Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska, Yulia Starodubtseva, Oleksandra Oliynykova, Angelina Kalinina, and Daria Snigur.
