Russian President Vladimir Putin's approval rating has been falling for six weeks in a row, with the latest figures showing the ratings have fallen to their lowest level since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian Sociological Service of the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion has recorded a further decline in the level of support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

What is known about the fall in Putin's approval rating?

His approval rating fell to 66.7% in a poll conducted April 6-12, the lowest level since the start of the full-scale war. That's 1.1 percentage points lower than a week earlier. His trust rating also fell to 72%.

In comparison, these figures were much higher in early February, with approval at 75.1% and trust at 78.7%. In March, ratings fell for the first time below the levels recorded on the eve of the invasion, on February 20, 2022. At that time, approval was 64.3% and trust was 67.2%.

Important! The head of the Center for Public Analytics “Vezha” Valeriy Klochok said on Channel 24 that cautious public criticism was allowed in Russia due to restrictions on the Internet against the backdrop of a worsening economic situation. The Kremlin is afraid of riots, so it allows society to “let off steam” in a controlled manner, which is dangerous for Putin's government.
