Two suspects in the terrorist attack in Brovary were given preventive measures in the form of detention without alternative options.

This was reported to the National Police.

On April 13, law enforcement received a report of an explosion near a private home. As a result of the incident, a local resident received minor injuries.

The SBU detained two suspects: a 23-year-old resident of Brovary, who is considered the perpetrator, and a 17-year-old resident of Chernivtsi region, the alleged organizer.

According to the investigation, they acted on the instructions of the Russian special services in exchange for a monetary reward. One of them planted explosives, the other installed a mobile phone for remote surveillance.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized physical evidence confirming the suspects' involvement in the crime.

SBU investigators have charged them with suspicion under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — a terrorist act. The article carries a penalty of up to 12 years in prison.
