In the Kharkiv region, the case of a man suspected of helping Russia export Ukrainian grain has been referred to court. This concerns thousands of tons of agricultural products illegally exported during the occupation.
Organized the export of grain during the occupation
In the Kharkiv region, law enforcement officers have completed an investigation into a resident of the Kupyanskyi district, who is accused of aiding an aggressor state, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reports. The case has already been referred to court.
According to the investigation, in the summer of 2022, during the occupation of part of the region, a man from the village of Dvorichna agreed to cooperate with the Russian military. He was appointed the so-called “head” of a local agricultural enterprise and tasked with organizing the export of the harvest.
The suspect controlled the shipment of grain from warehouses in the settlements of Dvorichna and Kolodyazne. After that, the products were transported to the territory of Russia.
Thousands of tons of agricultural products were exported to Russia
According to investigators, a total of more than 7,000 tons of agricultural products were illegally exported to Russia. Among them were 576 tons of corn, about 760 tons of wheat, and almost 6,000 tons of sunflower.
The final destination was a farm in the town of Valuyki, Belgorod region, where the Ukrainian harvest was delivered for further use.
The indictment has now been transferred to the Osnovyanskyi District Court of Kharkiv. The man is charged with aiding and abetting an aggressor state, which provides for criminal liability under Ukrainian law.
