The US has announced its intention to prosecute anyone who buys or sells Iranian oil that is under sanctions.
This was announced by Acting Attorney General of the United States, Todd Blanch.
According to Blanche, the US Department of Justice “will vigorously prosecute anyone who buys or sells sanctioned Iranian oil.”
He noted that the department fully supports the White House policy and the actions of the American military.
On April 11, negotiations were held in Pakistan between representatives of Iran and the United States. They did not agree to end the war because, according to J.D. Vance, Iran refused to shut down its nuclear program and produce nuclear weapons.
After that, Trump announced that the US Navy would begin a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz due to the failure of negotiations with Iran to agree on giving up nuclear weapons. According to Trump, the US Navy would intercept all ships that paid Iran a toll to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
He also warned Iran that if the Iranian military began attacking American warships, the US Navy would “send the Iranians to hell.”
US Central Command announced that US forces will begin blocking all maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports on April 13 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (17:00 Kyiv time).
