
Ukrainian volleyball player Oleg Plotnytskyi reached the final of the Italian volleyball championship for the fourth time in his career as part of Perugia. This happened following the results of the semi-final series against Piacenza.
Perugia came into the match against Piacenza with a 2-0 lead in the series. In order to reach the final, the Ukrainian team needed to extend its lead in the series to three wins. Perugia qualified for the final after the third match of the match.
In the first set, Piacenza tried to force a fight on Perugia. In the end, the winner of the game was determined by a margin of “more or less” – 27:25 in favor of the Ukrainian team. In the next set, the teams maintained parity until the score was 15:15, after which Perugia took the lead and brought the set to a 25:21 victory. The third game, however, ended with Perugia's total dominance – 25:15.
Plotnytskyi scored 12 points in the match, nine of which were offensive. Oleg also served three aces.

What does Perugia's progress to the Super League final mean?
- After Plotnytskyi's transfer to Perugia, the Ukrainian will play in the Super League final series for the fourth time.
- In 2021 and 2022, the Ukrainian team lost in the finals and became the silver medalist of the national championship. However, in 2024, Plotnytskyi won his first championship as part of the Italian team.
- Perugia will play in the Super League final for the eighth time in its history. The team has finished the championship with the trophy twice in total – in 2017 and 2024.
- Plotnytskyi and Perugia secured their third consecutive Italian volleyball championship title. After winning gold in 2024, the Ukrainian's team won bronze in the Super League in the 2024/25 season.
Perugia's opponent will be decided in the other semi-final between Verona and Lube Civitanova. After three matches, Civitanova leads 2-1.
