A new national initiative to support Ukrainian culture called “Tysyachovesna” was presented at the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Center for Film Industry Professionals.

The event was attended by over 150 participants, including directors, producers, screenwriters, and other representatives of creative teams. The event also included the presentation of awards to industry figures who create a strong Ukrainian cultural product, as reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetyana Berezhna on her Facebook page.

State awards were received by: the star of the film “You are Space” Volodymyr Kravchuk – the honorary title “Honored Artist of Ukraine”, film producer Natalia Libet – the Order of Princess Olga, III degree, famous TV presenter and blogger Anton Ptushkin – the Order “For Merit”, III degree, as well as producer and actor Oleg Shcherbyna – the honorary title “Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine”.

It is worth noting that the Volodymyr Kravchuk Award was received by film producer Volodymyr Yatsenko.

What is known about the “Thousandth Anniversary” initiative?

  • “Tysyachovesna” is a state program aimed at financing the creation of Ukrainian cultural products. It was launched by the Ministry of Culture and the Office of the President of Ukraine.
  • The main goal of the project is to increase the amount of quality content in the country and make it interesting for both Ukrainians and an international audience. The initiative is designed to provide more opportunities for the development of the creative industry in Ukraine.
  • The total budget of the initiative is 4 billion hryvnias. Ukrainian organizations and entrepreneurs – in particular, creative unions, public organizations, budget institutions, as well as individual entrepreneurs and other business entities registered in Ukraine – can participate in the program.
  • Support will be provided to projects in seven areas: feature films and series, documentaries, animated films and series, content for children, contemporary music, performative and visual arts, as well as audiovisual shows and videos for social networks.
  • Applications will be accepted until May 28, and project pitching is scheduled for August, according to the website of the “Tysyachovesna” initiative.
