World number two Yannick Sinner's streak of winning ATP 1000 tournaments without losing a set ended when the Italian lost one game in a tiebreak in the round of 16 of the Monte Carlo Masters.
Sinner was coming into the round of 16 match against Czech tennis player Tomasz Mahach with a streak of 18 consecutive victories at ATP 1000 tournaments. In all of his matches, the Italian won in straight sets.
Sinner's winning streak at the Masters began at the 2025 tournament in Paris. Already at the start of the next season, the Italian managed to continue his success at competitions in Indian Wells and Miami, and thanks to the titles at the American Masters, Sinner became the first tennis player to complete a “sunny double” without losing a single set.
