Possible shortage of goods: Obukhiv paper mill suspends work due to Russian attacks

The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill, located in Obukhiv, has been forced to temporarily halt production due to Russian attacks. On April 3, the plant came under attack from Russian drones.

This is stated in a message posted on the plant's Facebook page.

“For safety reasons and to eliminate the consequences, the production process at the enterprise's facilities has been temporarily suspended,” the message states.

Representatives of the cardboard and paper mill emphasize that the enterprise produces only consumer goods and is in no way connected with military infrastructure, defense complex facilities, or military orders.

“The forced stop threatens the stable supply of goods that are used daily in thousands of Ukrainian homes. In particular, we are talking about the uninterrupted production of such recognizable paper products as the classic “Obukhov 65”, the “Dyvo” product line, other sanitary and hygienic products in our assortment, and corrugated packaging,” the Obukhiv Plant reports.

The company expressed hope that the plant would return to full operation. However, they did not specify when this might happen.

“There was a hit at the Obukhiv plant this morning — at around 9 a.m. in one of the workshops. Now, according to official information from the enterprise, production has been temporarily suspended,” the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, said in a comment to Suspilny.

In the morning, Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region and the capital with drones and missiles. According to the Kyiv OVA, one person was killed and eight others were injured as a result of the strike.

The consequences were recorded in the Buchanan, Fastiv, and Obukhiv districts and in the village of Kryukivshchyna.

In addition, a veterinary clinic in Chabany, Fastiv district, was damaged by a Russian drone attack. According to the Kyiv Veterinary Service, about 20 animals that were being treated and kept at the facility died. The veterinary clinic's employees were not injured.
