By the fourth anniversary of the liberation of the Kyiv region from Russian occupation, on April 2, a new commemorative sign appeared in the center of the capital under the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People.
This was reported by the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A broken slab from the Gostomel airport was installed under the Arch of Freedom. It symbolizes the Russian army's destroyed intentions to “take Kyiv in three days.”
The slab is painted with red arrows from the Russian invasion plan. Between the two broken parts of the slab, as if tearing it apart, a steel stele with the chevrons of all the units that participated in the liberation of the Kyiv region is installed.
“This victory was made possible not only thanks to military skill and ingenuity. It was made possible thanks to unity. Thanks to the people who helped the army, supported each other, did not lose faith. Who became the army,” said Deputy Commander for Psychological Support Yevhen Sasko.
