Main points

  • Fire Point is completing the development of supersonic ballistic missiles.
  • The new weapon could potentially reach Moscow.

The Russian capital may soon be within reach of Ukrainian ballistic weapons. Co-founder and chief designer of Fire Point Denis Shtilerman stressed that the development of new missiles capable of attacking targets at a distance of up to 850 kilometers is currently being completed.

He said this in an interview with Reuters.

How will Ukrainian ballistics be able to reach Moscow?

According to Stillerman, Fire Point is currently completing the development of two supersonic ballistic missiles. The smaller of them, the FP-7 with a range of about 300 kilometers, is expected to be used in combat for the first time in the near future.

He noted that its characteristics are similar to the American ATACMS short-range ballistic system, which is manufactured by Lockheed Martin.

The more powerful FP-9 missile, capable of carrying a warhead weighing up to 800 kilograms to a distance of up to 850 kilometers, is due to enter the testing phase soon.

Important! This range of action potentially allows you to cover the Russian capital.

Stillerman emphasized that possible strikes on Moscow could significantly affect the perception of the war both among the Russian leadership and in society as a whole.

At the same time, the company continues to work on strengthening its own defense capabilities, in particular, creating a new air defense system, which should become a cheaper alternative to existing Western complexes.

For reference! The Ukrainian company Fire Point is developing new combat drones and missiles, actively cooperating with European partners and paying special attention to the creation of ballistic weapons. In an exclusive interview for Channel 24, Denis Shtilerman spoke about the features of weapons testing.

What is known about the successful use of Flamingo missiles?

  • On the night of March 28, the Russian city of Chapayevsk was hit by an airstrike, likely carried out by Flamingo missiles. Thick black smoke rose above the city after the attack – according to the OSINTERS, the target was a military factory.

  • The attack on the Votkinsk plant is also considered one of the most large-scale strikes. As a result of the missile strike, a galvanizing workshop where ballistic missile casings are manufactured was destroyed.
