Quite often, owners of land plots in rural Ukraine build sheds for storing tools or raising animals. However, not everyone knows how far from the shed to the neighbor's fence there should be.
How many meters should it be from the wall of your building to the fence?
Lawyer Iryna Honcharenko, in a comment to Channel 24, said that according to paragraph 6.1.41 of the State Code of Ukraine B.2.2-12:2019 “Planning and development of territories” when placing houses in blocks with established development for the purpose of maintaining houses and carrying out current repairs , the distance to the border of the adjacent land plot from the most protruding structure of the wall of the house must be at least 1 meter .
Please note! At the same time, the implementation of the necessary engineering and technical measures must be ensured to prevent precipitation from the roofs and eaves of buildings from entering the territory of adjacent land plots or mutually agreed drainage in accordance with the requirements of DBN V.1.1-25. For a new estate summer residence, the distance from the boundary should be set at least 3 meters. There is a note in this paragraph stating that outbuildings and garages of neighboring plots may be blocked.

The determining factor is the fire resistance of the structures, that is, the material from which the walls are made. The distance between the houses should be 10-15 meters. For structures with the highest degree of fire resistance, this distance is 6 meters. All of the above must be taken into account at the design stage of the dwelling.
The distance from a shed or toilet to the boundary between neighbors is not set by building codes, but a minimum distance from these structures to residential buildings is specified.
It is recommended to place the yard toilet directly next to the livestock shed at a distance of at least 15 meters from residential buildings and at least 20 meters from the water supply source (well, column, etc.).
Important! Iryna Goncharenko reminds that barns for livestock, rabbits, nutria, foxes and poultry must be placed at a distance from residential buildings in accordance with fire and sanitary standards: with single or double blocks for animals – at least 15 meters; group up to 8 blocks – at least 25 meters, from 8 to 30 blocks – at least 50 meters. Large barns for animals with more than 30 blocks can only be built outside residential buildings.
