The Cabinet of Ministers has launched a pilot project on professional training of workers for the defense-industrial complex, energy and other priority sectors. The state will allocate up to 30 thousand hryvnias for obtaining full qualifications and will compensate the costs of enterprises that train workers.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko on April 2.
“A training support tool through vouchers and retraining is already in place in Ukraine. Now the government is strengthening the linking of state support to the specific request of the employer,” said Svyrydenko.
The project provides for two forms of state support: a grant for a person acquiring a professional qualification and compensation for employers who invest in training.
In 2026, the grant for obtaining a full professional qualification will be up to 30 thousand hryvnias, for a partial one – up to 15 thousand hryvnias. The same maximum amounts will apply to compensation to employers.
The project primarily concerns the defense-industrial complex and other priority sectors, including energy. The program is financed by the Social Insurance Fund for Unemployment.
According to Svyrydenko, these changes are part of the government's new employment policy, which shapes the labor market in accordance with the needs of the economy.
