
Law enforcement officers in the Kyiv region have reported a 43-year-old woman to the police. She is accused of organizing sham marriages for money. In this way, citizens of other countries could “legalize” themselves in Ukraine.

The investigation established that the defendant was looking for foreigners who intended to marry women from Ukraine. She then found women in difficult financial situations in Kyiv and the region to enter into sham marriages with clients.
According to the case materials, after marriage, foreigners received temporary residence permits, that is, the right to officially live in Ukraine. For the “services” provided, the woman received from 3 to 5 thousand dollars.
During the searches, law enforcement officers found and seized evidence of the woman's illegal activities. The woman was reported for suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 Illegal organization and transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine, management of such actions, facilitation of their commission by providing means and removing obstacles, for selfish motives. Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to 9 years of imprisonment.
It was previously reported that law enforcement officers in Kyiv uncovered a scheme for illegal legalization of foreigners in Ukraine. According to the investigation, the probable organizer of the “business” is a 48-year-old foreigner living in Kyiv. He involved a 31-year-old “countryman” who also lives in the capital and a 53-year-old resident of Kyiv region in his activities. The accomplices found potential “clients” among citizens of Central Asia and the Transcaucasian region – they were offered to fictitiously marry Ukrainian women in order to then obtain a temporary residence permit.
