The Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General's Office have announced in absentia suspicion of Russian singer, Putinist, and propagandist Nikolai Baskov, who supports Russia's war against Ukraine.
The SBU and the UCP have collected additional evidence and reported a new suspicion to Baskov. This is stated in the SBU Telegram channel.
According to the SBU and the UCP, Mykola Baskov is one of the participants in Russian propaganda, is a member of the circle of artists close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and actively supports Russian aggression against Ukraine, the annexation of Crimea, and the violation of Ukraine's rights to independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
In 2023, at the International Economic Forum held in St. Petersburg, Baskova and other propagandists presented monetary certificates to the Russian occupiers for the destruction of Ukrainian tanks.
In addition, the Putinist regularly appeared on Russian TV channels and called for the continuation of the war against Ukraine. In addition, he repeatedly visited the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Russia, where he gave concerts in support of the Russian army. Baskov also streamed on his own resources, where he discredited Ukrainians and justified the actions of the occupiers.
Based on evidence collected by SBU investigators, the singer was informed of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code:
- Part 2 of Article 110 – encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine;
- Part 1 of Article 110-2 – financing of actions taken with the aim of changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine;
- Article 436 – propaganda of war;
- Part 3 of Article 436-2 – justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants using the media.
By the way! In January, the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting added traitor Lyubov Uspenskaya to the list of persons threatening the national security of Ukraine, as reported on the media regulator's website.
