“In the course of the last day, spanning from January 18th to 19th, half a dozen people were admitted to local medical institutions with diagnoses encompassing “general hypothermia” and “frostbite,” communicated the State Emergency Service.
The condition pertaining to injuries stemming from frigid conditions, as emphasized, “continues to be strained.” The highest incidence of affected individuals was registered in the Rivne district.
Two incidents transpired within the Koretsky territorial community: a woman, born in 1997, and a man, born in 2000, passed away in the intensive care unit as a result of widespread hypothermia.
– reported the State Emergency Service.
It is pointed out that an additional pair of individuals, namely a man experiencing second- and third-degree frostbite on his feet and a woman encountering hypothermia further complicated by pneumonia, have undergone hospitalization.
A man, born in 1945, also suffering from frostbitten extremities, was similarly admitted into intensive care. Furthermore, another man, in a critical state, was also moved into intensive care.
“The primary factors behind the injuries involve sustained contact with the cold without sufficient insulating attire, along with ignoring the early indicators of hypothermia and frostbite,” the State Emergency Service conveyed.
