“Good” drones arrived in Bashkortostan, Russia, on the morning of April 2. There, a fire broke out at the Ufa oil refinery.

What is known about the refinery in Ufa?
The Ufa refinery is part of Bashneft, which is controlled by Rosneft. It produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and petrochemicals.
For reference. There are 3 oil refineries in Ufa. In addition to Bashneft-UNPZ, these are Novoil and Ufaneftekhim. They all belong to Bashneft. It is known that in 2024 its plants processed 14.6 million tons of oil.
These refineries are an important node in Russia's fuel and export chains.
The first facility went into operation in 1938.

Currently, several AVT units are operating at the attacked UNPZ, and the primary processing capacity of the site is 7.5 million tons per year.
For reference. The AVT unit is a primary oil processing unit, which is key in the production process. Without it, further processing is impossible. It is assumed that the strike was carried out in the area of the AVT-5 unit.

What is known about the attack?

Local residents were awakened by explosions at around 6 a.m. local time.

Authorities confirmed the attack but said the drone was “shot down” on approach to a refinery in Ufa, adding that debris fell in an industrial area and caught fire. A residential building was also on fire.

In both cases, there were allegedly no injuries.

It is worth noting that the last flight to the Ufa refinery was on October 11, 2025. At that time, the General Staff noted that there are no safe places in the deep rear of Russia.
