This year, Silpo supermarkets have once again seen the tops of the pasak cakes that flew off the shelves in 2025. The chain even received a patent for this type of pastry.
The top of the Easter egg is back in “Silpo”: what is known?
The Silpo supermarket chain has received a patent for the top of the Easter cake, the company told Channel 24 .
Since March 30, the tops have been available again in Silpo supermarkets and on the silpo.ua website. In addition to the classic tops, there is a new exotic version on the shelves – “Mango Top of Joy”.
To bake it, they added mango puree and candied oranges to the dough, poured sweet fudge on top, and sprinkled with freeze-dried strawberries and pistachios.

When do Ukrainians celebrate Easter 2026?
In 2026, most Ukrainians will celebrate Easter on April 12. This is the date of the Resurrection of Christ for believers of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. At the same time, Western rite Christians, including Roman Catholics and Protestants, will celebrate this great holiday a week earlier – on April 5.
This difference in dates arises due to different approaches to calculating the day of the holiday. In September 2023, the OCU and the UGCC switched to the new Julian church calendar, so this change affected only “fixed” holidays that have a fixed date, such as Christmas or Epiphany.
At the same time, the rules for calculating Easter remained old. This was done in order to preserve unity with other Orthodox churches in the world, notes the website “Ukrainian Traditions”.
Please note! In general, the date of Easter changes annually and depends on the lunar and solar cycles. Thus, the Resurrection of Christ always falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the day of the vernal equinox.
