There is an important payment in Ukraine – land tax. We are talking about payments that must be made by owners of land plots and shares.

What will happen if you don't pay this tax, writes Debit-Credit.
According to the law, the regulatory body is obliged to independently determine the amount of a person's monetary obligations.
- At the same time, the taxpayer is not responsible for the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of the calculation of such an amount.
- However, it is responsible for the timely and full repayment of the accrued liability.
- In addition, the person has the right to appeal the specified amount.
The supervisory authorities must send the taxpayer a tax notice-decision on tax payment, together with a detailed calculation of the tax amount, by July 1 of the current year , which must include, in particular:
- cadastral number and area of the land plot;
- the tax rate;
- tax relief amounts.
Please note! Documents are considered to be properly served if they are sent to the taxpayer's address by registered letter with return receipt requested or by personal delivery. In addition, they must be in writing, duly signed, and sometimes certified by the seal of such a regulatory authority.
The tax is paid within 60 days from the date of delivery of the tax notice-decision. Failure to pay is subject to liability in the form of punitive (financial) sanctions and/or fines.
If the regulatory authority itself did not send the tax notice in due time, then individuals are exempt from liability .
The State Tax Service, in particular, reported on the amounts of possible fines:
- in case of delay up to 30 calendar days inclusive, following the last day of the deadline for payment of the amount of the monetary obligation – in the amount of 5% of the repaid amount of the tax debt;
- if the delay is more than 30 calendar days following the last day of the payment period – in the amount of 10% of the repaid amount.
Important! Actions committed intentionally entail a fine of 25% of the amount. And if they are committed repeatedly within 1,095 calendar days or result in a delay in payment for more than 90 calendar days, they entail a fine of 50% of the amount.
