Russian forces are trying to change the tactics of using strike drones and are modernizing them. At the same time, Ukrainian air defense continues to demonstrate high interception results.
During the last massive attack, most of the enemy drones were destroyed. This was reported by Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the air of “We–Ukraine”.
How is Russia changing its drone attack tactics?
The Russian military continues to improve its strike drones and change its approach to attacks on Ukraine. However, the Ukrainian air defense system effectively counters these threats and demonstrates consistently high results.
According to Ignat, during the last massive attack, Russian forces used 289 drones, most of which were Shahed attack drones.
As of 9:00, 267 drones had been destroyed. But the attack was still ongoing. Ukrainian air defense traditionally demonstrates high performance,
– Ignat noted.
He stressed that Russia is trying to adapt its tactics, including changing drone flight routes, altitudes, and launch times. The enemy is also working on technical improvements to drones to make them more difficult to intercept.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces actively use not only fire weapons, but also modern electronic warfare systems. They allow to suppress or disorient enemy drones while still in the air. Therefore, a significant part of air targets can be destroyed or neutralized before they reach their targets.
