Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga said that Ukrainian intelligence has evidence that Russia is deliberately directing drones towards the Baltic states and Finland. It is also using such incidents for informational provocations.
This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga at a joint press conference with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
Why is Russia directing Ukrainian drones towards the Baltic countries and Finland?
According to the minister, Ukraine is in constant contact with partners from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland and promptly transmits to them the necessary information regarding such cases.
“I can assure you that we have never directed drones towards these countries. And we are working together with our partners to protect them from such incidents in the future… In addition, I can state with certainty that in all these cases there were absolutely conscious and purposeful actions by Russia. We have intelligence data indicating that the Russians are specifically directing drones towards the Baltic countries in order to use these incidents for their informational purposes, for propaganda purposes,” said Sibiga.
The minister also called for joint counteraction to Russian propaganda and thanked partners for their clear position on the causes of these incidents.
According to him, it is Russian aggression that creates such risks, and the key to eliminating them is ending the war.
