Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced new agreements with some Middle Eastern countries. They concern strengthening air defense, cooperation in the fields of security, defense, and energy.

What are the results of the visit to the Middle East?

President Zelenskyy said his visit to the Gulf countries was “very useful.” He said the region has a common vision for cooperation with Ukraine and the experience of its defense experts.

Security and restoration of stability are the first priority for everyone. And each of the peoples deserves to live in peace. There are already agreements, these are historic agreements,
– added the leader of Ukraine.

These are agreements with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. Work is also underway with Jordan and Kuwait. Separately, Ukraine has received requests from Bahrain and Oman, Zelensky added.

The Head of State emphasized that in exchange for the experience of Ukrainian defenders, Ukraine expects appropriate security cooperation.

We have already agreed on the possibilities of strengthening air defense, on the joint development of defense production, and also on energy cooperation,
– said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The agreements between the parties concern the supply of diesel and other resources needed by Ukraine.

Recent agreements with Ukraine

  • Also on March 30, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine and Bulgaria had signed a security agreement for at least 10 years. It provides for military assistance, joint weapons production, and cooperation in the energy sector.

  • In addition, the countries agreed on investments in defense production, a gas supply corridor, and support for Ukraine's accession to the EU.

  • Prior to this, a defense cooperation agreement was signed with Saudi Arabia. It is noted that it does not provide for the direct participation of the Ukrainian military in hostilities in the Middle East.
