Maguchykh's rival won the stage of the Golden Athletics Tour with just three jumps

Australian high jumper Nicola Olislagers won the Gold Tour stage of the athletics event on her home turf in Australia.

Olislagers began the season at home, where she won, clearing 1.96 meters. She then went on to compete at the 2026 World Indoor Championships, where she finished tied for second with 1.99 meters.

Instead, Olislagers then competed in the Gold Continental Tour series in Melbourne, where eight athletes competed in the high jump.

Maguchi's opponent missed six heights and made her first attempt at a height of 1.89 meters, which she immediately cleared. Five high jumpers had already completed the competition before her, and Japan's Nagisa Takahashi moved her attempt to this height after failing to clear 1.86 meters, but did not clear the bar.

At 1.92 meters, there were two high jumpers left in the sector. Olislagers cleared it on her first attempt, as did fellow Australian Isobel Louison-Roe. However, the 1.95 meter bar was Louison-Roe's last, and Olislagers took the height right away.

The Australian did not clear the 1.97m height and finished the tournament with a victory thanks to only three jumps. Louison-Roe won the silver medal, while Takahashi won the bronze medal thanks to the best number of attempts, who, like Australian Emily Whelan, cleared 1.82m.
