The Ukrainian national football team lost to Sweden in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff — 1:3. A hat-trick against Anatoly Trubin was scored by striker Viktor Yokeres, and the only goal for the Ukrainian national team was scored by debutant Matviy Ponomarenko.
